My name is Natalie Joan and I'm a singer, songwriter and composer based in the absolutely gorgeous Peak District, UK.  I write and perform my own songs and I am also available to write and compose songs, instrumental compositions or jingles too.  

​​

If you are a business that needs a catchy tune for a radio advert, a film director wanting a bespoke piece of music written for your production or a company who would like a beautiful instrumental composition to add to your marketing videos, I can certainly help with all that and more!

 

I can either work from a client brief or be left alone to create a piece of music that fits your requirements perfectly.

Here's a bit of back story to add some character behind the name.......

Words and music are my gift in life and whenever people ask me which is my favourite, I'm not sure.  They might well go hand in hand to be honest, I love them both equally. I don’t have a favourite, that wouldn’t be fair.

​​

My skill with words was realised at an early age when I would while away the hours writing fantastical stories and poems, letting my imagination run wild and escaping to the mystical places I’d envisioned with the characters I’d created. I seemed to have a natural gift with words (and imagination) right from the start.

As I grew older, I began to turn my attention to music too and I started writing songs. I learnt to play the piano and violin and then taught myself to play my dad’s old charity shop guitar (which he affectionately named Fred due to a strange marking on the guitar which looked like the word, erm, Fred!). I realised combining the power of words with the power of music was like alchemy!

Fast forward a few years and I have written songs for major British television drama, had BBC Introducing airplay, obtained an HND in Media Production, a BSc in Professional Broadcast Techniques and have played 100's of live gigs as a bassist, keyboard player, backing singer and lead singer.  I mostly perform solo these days with my trusty Tanglewood acoustic guitar, playing 95% original self-penned songs and 5% covers!
